By Nate Johnson
This year. I read one hundred and four books. That’s two books a week. It wasn’t a goal I set out for. It was a culmination of habits and fun. Here are some lessons I took away.
Reading is a habit for me- I grew up going to the library. I read every “Nate the Great” book I could get my hands on. I remember my mom reading the Harry Potter series to me. I grew up in a house full of books. Reading is practically in my blood.
This wasn’t a goal and that made reading more enjoyable- In 2015, I made a goal of reading one hundred books. I accomplished the goal, but it became a chore. Reading wasn’t fun. This year, I didn’t think the goal was possible until November came. That made reading less pressured from myself.
I prioritized reading. I brought books to work to read during lunch. When I waited for an oil change, I read. I started each day by reading at least one chapter. Fifteen minutes here, twenty minutes there added up.
All that to say, I love reading. It is possible to read many books when you prioritize time and make reading a habit. Below is the list of the books I read in 2019.
