The Ten Most Wanted List: Rainbow Brite Costume

The Amos staff chooses their ten most wanted items to make a Rainbow Brite costume. (Yes, most links lead to Amazon because we are — full disclosure—an Amazon affiliate. Similarly, one of the links goes to our very own shop on Etsy. Because…it’s our site.) That being said, all items have been curated and chosen by writers and staff of Amos and are genuinely objects we love. If you love them, too, fantastic. We hope you do.

1.) Royal blue 5-layer short tutu with LED lights (2.) Red suspenders (women’s Y-style, 1” width) (3.) Rainbow Brite leggings (available in three skin shades) (4.) Rainbow tinsel false eyelashes( 5.) Starlite the Horse plush, because you need your friend/accessory/ride OR if you want to be usual Rainbow Brite, you can carry your good friend, Twink the Sprite (6.) Aurora Borealis Star Earrings (7.) Yellow and Royal Blue Camisole Tanks: Yes. You need to layer them. Adjust the straps so the yellow one peeps up over the blue. If you feel up to it, bedazzle the yellow tank top with three perfectly placed, red, round Swarovskis. Or use a red Sharpie to fill in the three red dots Rainbow Brite always has on her own yellow placket. (8.) Rainbow multi-stripe arm warmers (9.) Red Converse Shoreline low-top sneakers (10.) Orange satin ribbon shoelaces

Bonus: You can also add a 4” wide red sequin stretch belt/cummerbund.
