These lovely cakes are displayed like art, which they are. Signs next to them read “Do Not Touch.” Some of them have dust on them to prove most people behave themselves.
Aside from the fact that someone at the Jean-Philippe Patisserie at the Aria might want to dust the display cakes, these are extraordinary. I can’t even begin to imagine the hours spent by very talented hands to create these Mad Hatter-Seussical-picture book cakes.
The online reviews for the patisserie (4 of 5 on Yelp and 4.5 of 5 on Trip Advisor) and its sister establishment, the Jean-Philippe chocolatier at the Bellagio are very good. But even if you don’t order the non-dusty, meant-to-be-eaten treats, in my opinion, if you’re in Las Vegas, these “don’t touch” versions are worth walking past to ogle.
But don’t eat them. I’m guessing that will get you kicked out.
